Beds for Africa
Brad Europe are proud to be associated with the remarkable Sue Heywood and her charity "Children of Watuma"
Sue visited Kenya in 2000 and was dismayed at the lack of resources available to school children in Watuma, a small coastal village 120kms north of Mombassa, so she did something about it and built 3 schools! Her charity is now responsible for educating 700 children aged from 2 to 16 years.
Her latest project is to establish a "happy home"; (Sue does not like the word orphanage) to house children who have ben left parentless by AIds, Maleria, and other diseases, or have simply been abandoned.
The "Happy Home" is almost finished and can accommodate 100 children. Brad Europe have donated beds, mattresses and linen and along with Holidaybreak Plc arranged for a container to be shipped full of all sorts of useful equipment desperately needed to complete the project.

Brad on a Slippery Slope!
Brad Europe have successfully diversified into a new market by offering a linen hire service to ski chalets and hotels. Our substantial stocks of linen have traditionally been unused from October to the following March, maximising our resources all year round.
Neilson, Sne Sno and Zenith were our first clients for the 2009/10 season and with the exception of a a few minor weather related problems such as closed Passes, blizzards and broken snow chains everything went very well.
Nicky Shields-Quinn of Neilson's commented: "Brad have identified a niche market and provide a professional and reliable service to all our resorts in the French Alps. Their drivers are very helpful and it is much easier dealing with one provider rather than using several local laundries."
Brad are planning to open a permanent warehousing facility in Albertville in October 2010. |
New Machinery Ordered
BMM Weston and HJ Weir, world leaders in the manufacture of laundry equipment are to supply Brad Europe with the latest generation of ironers and folding machinery.
The investment, which is excess of £500,000, will dramatically increase production levels and improve working conditions for staff.
The machinery will be installed in both the Nantes and Beaucarie laundries in Spring 2010 followed by Italy in 2011. Not only will productivity double but it will allow greater flexibility in dealing with the seasonal nature of the business by enabling a more efficient rotation of stock. |
